Free Mind Matters Initiative Course for Members
The VECCS Board is acutely aware of the stresses that members of our profession face and how these may impact individuals, families, friends and colleagues. We are pleased to announce that we have worked with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and The Webinar Vet to offer an online series of eight one-hour mindfulness-based stress reduction sessions, entitled ‘Turning Mind-Full to Mindful’.
Note the first in the series was February 1st at 3:00-4:00 p.m. Eastern.
The evidence base for the positive impact of mindfulness has been growing over recent years. The practice, which grew out of Buddhist traditions of meditation, has been credited with helping to reduce stress and anxiety, relieve pain, improve sleep patterns and general well-being, and even make positive physical changes to the brain.
We are pleased to offer this series as a VECCS Member benefit and hope that our members will take advantage of this opportunity. The webinar schedule can be viewed from the link below; after registering, previous session recordings can be accessed from the Archives.
To register for the eight session course (no cost to VECCS members):
1. Log into the member website at https://www.veccs.org/login/
2. Use the top menu button “Webinars/Events” to select “Online Mindfulness Course”
