Dr. Ian DeStefano is a faculty member at Tufts in the ECC service. He is also the co-chair of the hospital Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Team (ICAST) alongside Dr. Claire Fellman. Together, the ICAST group provides a resource for the hospital regarding infection control measures, as well as working together on antimicrobial stewardship research in various avenues. This partnership is a joint effort with the Tufts Medical Center in Boston and is truly a One Health collaborative team. Dr. DeStefano’s research interests include infectious disease/antimicrobial stewardship, as well as disorders of coagulation and fibrinolysis to name a few.
Dr. Robert Goggs is board-certified by the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He has a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Bristol, UK. Dr. Goggs joined the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and is currently an Associate Professor. He led efforts to standardize veterinary viscoelastic testing and helped develop guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of immune-mediated hemolytic anemia and immune thrombocytopenia and use of antithrombotics. Dr. Goggs is one of two faculty members in the Comparative Coagulation Laboratory at Cornell. His research focuses on hemostasis, thrombosis, sepsis, pharmacology, and immune-mediated disease.
Dr. Armi Pigott completed his veterinary degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA; rotating internship at Pet Emergency Clinics in Ventura, CA; and Emergency and Critical Care residency at Animal Emergency Center in Glendale, WI. Professional interests include emergency resuscitation, trauma, and wound management. He is passionate about teaching emergency medicine and critical care medicine with a particular interest in using hands-on labs and high-fidelity simulation to train veterinary teams and improve patient outcomes.
